3 Core Exams
There are 3 core exams that we do. One is called heart rate variability or HRV. In this test, we track your pulse over the course of 3 minutes. By doing so, we can tell by the subtle variations in those beat-to-beat intervals if your body is locked into a fight or flight response – which is so often the cause behind even a child’s or baby’s immune issue, digestive issue, sleep issue or focus issue. So many things can be traced back to that overactive fight or flight response. So that’s why we measure your HRV.
The next test we do is called EMG or electromyography. This test measures the muscles that move and support your spine to see how active and engaged they are. This is great for someone that has discomfort in their neck or back because we can see what the biomechanics are doing. But it’s also really good for our young people because it gives us an idea of what kind of sensory input is coming in through their nervous system which is so often behind their anxiety, or focus issues or hyperactivity or so many other challenges.
The last test we do is thermography. It’s essentially a fancy thermometer that takes tens of thousands of temperature readings along your spine, comparing one side to the other. This is so important because every organ in your body essentially plugs in to your spine via the nerves. Our thermography scan lets us know if those nerves that plug in to those internal systems, are healthy. Because many times, people’s internal health issue is directly related to some type of disfunction in their spine and the thermography scan can let us see that clear as day.
