What happens in Vagus...

What happens in Vegas, doesn’t necessarily stay in Vegas! We’re talking about the Vagus nerve, of course. Not only is it the longest nerve in your body, but it’s also the most important. It starts at the bottom of your brain stem, goes down your spine on either side, hits your heart, lungs and diaphragm and aids your digestion. So not only is it connecting all of your vital organs, but it’s also your body’s internal “brake pedal”. It’s responsible for every time your body needs to relax, calm down, learn, socialize, digest, fight off immune challenges and more.

So what happens if your Vagus nerve is underactive? The opposite happens – hyperactivity, anxiety, learning issues, sensory issues, digestive problems, immune issues and more. One of the great things about our office is that we don’t guess. We test. With a short, simple and designed-for-kids exam, we can see exactly how effectively the Vagus nerve is functioning and how that might be factoring into you our your child’s health challenge.
